IntroductionGNSS antennas are a critical but often overlooked part of the receiver setup. Choosing the right antenna is critical because antennas are the main interface between the GNSS space segment and the user, as they capture the L-band signals transmitted by the satellite. The antenna must be able to convert the electromagnetic wave energy from the satellite into an electric current, which is then further processed by the receiver. Given that the signals received from GNSS satellites are weak and come from any direction, choosing the right antenna is critical. Selecting the best GNSS antenna based on the application will maximize the positioning performance of the GNSS receiver. The HGA3525 active antenna uses HoneyComm's unique technology to achieve GNSS dual-frequency system operation, covering GPS L1, L2, L5 bands; Beidou B1, B2 bands. In order to meet the simple layout and low-cost requirements of the motherboard, HonevComm uses single-feed antenna stacking technology to achieve dual-frequency mode while maintaining low axial ratio and right-hand circular polarization radiation performance. The operating frequency band of the patch component can be selected according to customer needs. In order to improve GNSS RF sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio, HGA3525 adopts LNA+dual SAW+PD+LNA structure, providing excellent noise figure and constant high gain in the whole frequency band. The final output adopts SMA female connector, which is easy to connect with RF cable. HGA3525 active antenna has the characteristics of portability and dual frequency, and can be used in trackers, navigation equipment and self-driving cars.
