Description
Beauregard sweet potato was developed by the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, and registered in Brazil by Embrapa as a biofortified variety.
The main differential of the cultivar BEAUREGARD in relation to other sweet potato materials is its orange pulp, an indication of the high beta-carotene content. It has 10 times more carotenoides - provitamin A - than common cultivars. For this reason, in addition to its very tasty taste, it is a cultivar widely consumed in the US and European markets.
The consumption of 25 to 50 grams of BEAUREGARD sweet potato meets the daily needs of vitamin A, a very important antioxidant substance for health, as it prevents eye disorders and skin diseases, aids in growth and development and strengthens the body's defense
