Several procedures have been proposed to reduce the concentration of heavy metals in soils, and, consequently, their polluting effects. Among them stand out the application of materials, such as Bentonite, capable of adsorption these elements, making them less available to plants. The objective of this work was to evaluate the capacity of Bentonite in the remediation of soils contaminated with zinc. An experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions with a fully nasalized design with three replications and one plant per plot

The results showed that Bentonite seems to be an excellent inorganic material to remedy soils contaminated with zinc. The incorporation of Bentonite into the soil increases zinc adsorption by decreasing the availability of this element to the plant, thus increasing dry mass production
